Manitoba's Interlake - Inland Oceans, Infinite Possibilities

Manitoba's Interlake is spectacular in its natural beauty.
Found north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, between Lake Winnipeg & Lake Manitoba the Interlake hosts wildlife refuges at Oak Hammock Marsh, inland at Narcisse Snake Dens & among thousands of acres of Wildlife Management areas.

Explore the 200 year old history of the early fur trade at Lower Fort Garry NHS & early Scottish settlements along the Red River & Selkirk. Hear the stories of the Icelandic settlers that formed their own country, New Iceland, in the 1870's at Gimli, Riverton & Hecla Island. The 3rd wave of settlers arrived from the Ukraine.

The Interlake's vast region includes areas west along Hwy #6 to Steep Rock limestone cliffs [& north to the 53rd parallel], west to The Narrows of Lake Manitoba by Manitou Island [from the Great Manitou came the name Manitoba].
From waving wheat fields to boreal forests, with miles of sandy beaches to rocky shores at Hecla Island, our glorious sunrises & sunsets
the Interlake is Nature's playground of
Inland Oceans, Infinite Possibilities!
